Volunteer coordinators are the assets of the organisation. They perform various activities to ensure that the daily activities are running as planned. Arranging volunteering activities, placements, events in the community, web site management and long term planning projects of the organization are some of the tasks of the coordinator.

This is a retreat as well as a responsibility to be fulfilled. This is an opportunity that will allow you to enhance your skills and to prove your management expertise. We want a responsible individual who is able to balance the activities of work and fun at the same time.

Volunteer Coordinator  manages daily works of Sun sHADe Volunteers which includes many different tasks such as organising individual volunteer placements, volunteer activities, community events, web-management (website, social media, listings etc.). It is also duty of Volunteer coordinators to work conflict resolution, short and long-term planning of different projects, writing grant proposals and progress reports as guided by the organization.

TASKS

  • Manage volunteering programs (environmental conservation programs & eco-kids programs ) dealing with both international and local volunteers
  • Taking care of smooth stay of international volunteers
  • Welcoming new volunteers
  • Planning and organizing trips for volunteers
  • Planning and organizing events based on empowering women and educating youth
  • Contacting various organisations for the enhancement of the NGO’s current status
  • Manage and solve queries of international volunteers
  • Developing effective reports of the company’s on-going projects and programmes
  • Managing social medias and promoting on-going events online
  • Developing content on the website

REQUIREMENTS

  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Experience with working in NGO or with volunteers is preferred
  • Experienced in using social medias for promotional purposes
  • Easy going and open-minded personality
  • Passion for developing youth, empowering women and working with people from various cultures.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizing skills
  • The candidate must be welcoming and compassionate
  • Bachelors, Master’s or professional degree in a relevant field. Environment Management or Marine Science or related fields are preferred.
  • Minimum 6 month commitment.

The positions is unpaid but we offer you free accommodation, domestic transport and visa. Cost of food is not covered but kitchen facility is provided for intern.
